In June of 1966, Ford made history when it famously dethroned Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, putting an end to the Prancing Horse’s six-consecutive wins and becoming the first American constructor to achieve an overall win. Ford didn’t just win the event, however, it managed to take a 1-2-3 sweep, with the top three spots on the podium being secured by drivers behind the wheel of a GT40 MK II. And for its final 2022 homage to the MK II, Ford has opted to pay tribute to this podium sweep with a limited-edition run of Holman Moody Heritage Edition Ford GTs.

Freshly unveiled at the 2022 New York International Auto Show alongside the original 1966 Ford GT40 MK II, the GT Holman Moody Heritage Edition boasts a number of features and elements that distinguish it from the regular version of the retro-inspired supercar such as 20” carbon fiber wheels and top-shelf Brembo brakes. Mounted behind the cabin is a 660-hp bi-turbo 3.5-liter V6 that’s mated to a paddle-shifted seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. As one would expect from a six-figure supercar, this limited-edition model also comes equipped with a high-end array of track-focused running gear and componentry.

Its carbon fiber bodywork has also been adorned in a replica livery of the Holman Moody racers, with a Gold, Heritage Red, and Oxford White scheme with swaths of exposed carbon. The interior of this ultra-limited-production supercar has been bestowed with an equally generous amount of carbon, with the lightweight weave being used to craft the cabin’s door sills, lower A-pillars, console, registers, and carbon-back Alcantara race seats.

Though the Michigan marque has yet to reveal pricing, the company has announced that the 2022 Ford GT Holman Moody Heritage Edition will only be available to select “approved” customers and is scheduled to begin deliveries this spring.
